Saint Joseph, patron of the Universal Church, was a first century Jewish tekton (builder or carpenter) to whom God the Father entrusted the protection of His only Begotten Son and the Blessed Mother. Famously silent in the Gospels, St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, speaks in the same way as God the Father: through the person and words of his Son. Feast days: March 19 and May 1.
